Avis Williams candidate for ASCD national board of directors

Selma Superintendent Avis Williams is a candidate for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), an international educational organization that is holding elections to choose two members for its national board of directors.

According to their website, the ASCD is an educator advocacy organization that comprises 113,000 members hailing from over 129 countries. Williams’ vision statement and a brief bio can be seen online.

“My vision is to lead with teamwork, excellence, integrity, and joy to position ASCD as the premiere education resource for teachers, leaders, and learners. Having served at all education levels, I have the experience, knowledge, and communications skills to enhance and promote the ASCD brand.”

The election will close on April 30. The selected candidates will take office on July 1 and will serve a term of four years.
