With growing concern of an increase in COVID-19 cases, Blackbelt Benefit Group has canceled plans to bring back the First Saturday Selma music series this Saturday.

Artists Aretta Woodruff and the New Direction Band; Hurricane Elaine Hudson and Sam Frazier Jr. were scheduled to perform with social distancing and masks at 1124 Water Avenue from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“After careful consideration that takes into account the rising COVID cases throughout the Black Belt and the importance of the health of our community, Blackbelt Benefit Group has decided to cancel this weekend’s events,” BBG Executive Director Devon Gray said. “We hope everyone will join us again when it is safe to reopen.”
