On Aug. 1 the City of Selma will partner with Eclectica, Look, and Southland Studios for Volunteer Day to clean part of downtown Selma from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The City and its partners are requesting around 10 volunteers to help out with the effort. Volunteers will be asked to  spread pine straw mulch, wrap trees in lights, pot plants, and weed where it’s needed.

Each one will be assigned an area “with lots of space” to allow for social distancing. Volunteers are asked to bring gardening gloves and bottled water as they meet at the alley near Eclectica and Look.

The event is hosted by the Blackbelt Benefit Group. For updates see the event page on Facebook.
