A community program serving Dallas County received another grant from Governor Kay Ivey’s Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
The Community Services Program of West Alabama Inc. (CSPWA) was among other agencies in the state to be awarded funds from the Community Services Block Grants, which totaled $1.7 million to assist low-income residents.
According to an announcement from ADECA, the funds will be used to help residents in finding employment.
“Alabama’s low-income residents sometimes need an extra helping hand as they work to gain better stability in their lives,” Ivey said. “I commend these agencies for helping to reduce poverty and assisting families in need through the Community Services Block Grant program.”
CSPWA received $171,486. Previously, the organization received a $5.42 million grant. In addition to Dallas County, CSPWA serves Bibb, Choctaw, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Tuscaloosa, and Sumter counties.
