The annual American Cancer Society Dallas County Relay For Life is still set for May 29, and both Event Leadership Team volunteers and donations are need, said Quenita Mitchell, AMS community development manager for Dallas County.
Mitchell also confirmed that the event is still set for the fairgrounds in Selma.
“We are heading into what is an important time in our fundraising efforts for our mission, but the American Cancer Society’s top priority remains the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and the cancer patients and their loved ones who rely on us,” Mitchell said.
However, she said, “While ACS has suspended all events through mid-May, preparations are still underway to hold Relay For Life of Dallas County on May 29, as originally scheduled.”
Mitchell said, “The COVID-19 situation remains uncertain and fluid, and our goal is to respond in a way that best meets the health and safety needs of those who rely on us. We will continue to monitor the situation and update event plans as needed. We are grateful for all the dedication of our volunteers and appreciate the sacrifices they make to support our events.”
She said to support Relay For Life of Dallas County, the public should please donate now at www.relayforlife.org/dallasal.
She also said, “We are in a great need for volunteers for the Event Leadership Team. Anyone that has a passion for volunteering can help me.”
