Dallas County reports two more COVID-19 cases, bringing total to four

The Alabama Department of Public Health has announced two more positive cases of coronavirus in Dallas County, bringing the total number reported to four.

The Alabama Department of Public Health shows Dallas County has four cases of residents who have tested positive for coronavirus. It is unclear where the new cases are within the county. The Selma Sun will update when we find out if it is at one of our medical care centers. Of the first two cases, one was handled at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, another at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The Dallas County Health Department started drive-thru testing this week, on Monday and Wednesday by appointment only.

Schools and most businesses in Dallas County are closed to prevent the spread.

There are 1,179 cases in Alabama, with the majority in Jefferson County. There are 32 reported deaths with 17 directly related to the virus, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
