Friday COVID count: Dallas County reports 1,259 cases, 23 deaths

Dallas County reported 1,259 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of late Friday night, an increase of 26 from Thursday, and a death toll of 23.

Cases have risen 171 in the last 14 days in Dallas County, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health Infectious Diseases & Outbreaks Division.

Dallas County’s risk status improved from the “high risk” category to “moderate risk” on the state’s COVID-19 risk status indicator. For more information, see the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Risk Indicator Dashboard at

There are currently 85,200 confirmed cases in Alabama, an increase of 2,000 from Thursday, and 1,531 deaths related to the virus. More than 687,000 tests were conducted as of July 31, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
