Gov. Ivey closes schools for remainder of school year

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has closed schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a proclamation on Thursday, the governor instructs school districts to come up with a plan to finish out the year starting April 6. Districts are to make decisions on staffing and building closures.
