Prince Chestnut wins re-election

State Rep. Prince Chestnut won with 70% of the vote.

State Rep. Prince Chestnut won his seat in District 67 against challenger Larine Irby Pettway.

Chestnut won Dallas County by 71 percent and Perry County by 63 percent.

Prince Chestnut thanked the voters of Dallas and Perry counties for allowing him to continue to represent District 67. “If it ain’t broke, there’s no need to fix it,” Chestnut said. He said he got the message that voters want him to keep them updated, “and I’m committed to doing that.”

“It’s time to grow together, to get Dallas County, Perry County, the Black Belt back on the map, back in the game,” Chestnut said. “We’re part of Alabama. It’s time the rest of Alabama treated us like we’re part of Alabama. It’s for our children. It’s for our families. It’s for our neighborhoods.”
