Tomorrow a prayer service will be held, beginning at Songs of Selma Park and moving on to Edmund Pettus Bridge.
The service is sponsored by Army of Mothers and Fathers for peace. Participants will gather at Songs of Selma Park at 7:15 a.m. for pre-event worship and prayer before going to Edmund Pettus Bridge at 8 a.m.
A flyer for the event says the service will call on churches to make this Fourth of July holiday a “rebirth” day for the United States.
Participants are asked to wear white for the occasion, a color that is traditionally worn for baptism. Social distancing will be practiced and face masks are required.
