The Selma Art Guild (SAG) will hold “An English Tea Party” fundraiser from 3 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, Feb. 16 at the SAG Gallery located at 508 Selma Ave.
The tea party will feature “cream tea’ with scones, whipped cream and either homemade strawberry jam or lemon curd, delicious sandwiches and other homemade good to warm the heart,” Jo Taylor of SAG said. She said included will be several varieties of tea that are served in England during teatime.
Taylor said, “Operations of the guild and general maintenance on our historic house require funds.
The funds will be used to help us with programming and building maintenance cost.” She also said, “These funds raised from the English Tea will go towards our work to further the arts and especially the visual arts in Selma and Dallas County.”
Tickets for the tea party are $20 and can be purchase at the SAG Galley on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 to 4 p.m., Gallery 905 and Queen City Market.
The Selma Art Guild is a nonprofit organization, which was started in the 1970s by local artists to promote art and provide opportunities for artists. Its visual arts music series is provided with generous support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and Art Works.
