For the boys team, since beginning the new year with a road loss to 7A Prattville, the Selma boys basketball team have thumped area foe Wetumpka and toyed with two Dallas County competitors over the holiday weekend as they appear to be gelling for the playoff run in the next few weeks.
The Saints got up big early on Dallas County 17-4 and senior guard Marqwavis Davis knocked down three consecutive three pointers to hype the crowd and energize his teammates.
Jarvis Moss’ penetration set up two of those threes which opened up his game as the game progressed. The Saints led at halftime. The visiting Hornets had a no-quit lead by cat-quick guard Nate Ellis Jr., who was relentless with drives to the basket and defensive pressure that led to steals and baskets that kept the Plantersville squad in the game
