Dallas County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 179 Thursday, an increase of seven cases from Wednesday and 23 from Monday.
The death rate in Dallas County remains at three, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health Infectious Diseases & Outbreaks Division.

A “Safer at Home” order from the state started May 1 with loosened rules on closure of some businesses and was amended to allow hair and nail salons, restaurants and bars reopened May 11 with some restrictions.
There are currently 13,418 confirmed cases in Alabama and 533 reported deaths related to the virus, with 174,000 tests conducted as of May 21, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
